Everyday is a Gift: A Short Message

Life is a much like a painting; beautiful with all it's round shapes and sharp edges. The colors on the canvas can tell a story of how the artist was feeling while painting it. There might be some smooth strokes of purple or textured splatters of red and orange. The painting can have areas of great light and great darkness, all collaborating to make one beautiful masterpiece. If you were to look very closely at this piece, you would only see a small fragment of a larger picture. However, if you stood back and saw it as a whole, you would see how each area is complimentary.

Life is a beautiful work of art. Even though we go through some tough trials in our lifetime, we find that they make us who we are; they make us stronger. When we look back at our life, what we mostly see are the simply sweet memories. We see our family, our friends, our significant others, our pets etc. We see loved ones sitting around the dinner table laughing. We see our significant other gazing so lovingly at us. We see our pets cuddling up to us. We see ourselves enjoying nature. We see those moments when we took the time to enjoy the simplicity of life.

This present moment is no different. This present moment is a gift. As each moment passes away it becomes a memory. Last night is now a memory. An hour ago is a memory. Everyday is a gift and we get to choose how to spend it and enjoy it. Let us choose to enjoy it. We must allow ourselves to grieve our trials and then to enjoy each precious moment with all the love and laughter that we share with each other. This is what makes life beautiful; this is what makes everyday a gift.
